Privacy notice

This notice explains how Laura Barrett Photography uses personal information collected through this website. It is written in plain language for visitors in the UK.

Who I am

I am Laura Barrett, trading as Laura Barrett Photography, a sole trader based in Brighton. I am responsible for the enquiries sent through this website. You can contact me at laurabarrettphotography@gmail.com.

What the contact form collects, and why

If you send an enquiry, the form collects your name, email address, and message. You can also give a phone number and a preferred date, and you choose what you are interested in — for example a newborn, family, portrait, maternity, sports, couples, or second-shoot wedding session.

I use these details only to read your enquiry and reply to you. That is in my legitimate interests as a photographer, and it covers the steps you ask me to take before we agree a booking. I do not add you to a mailing list, and I do not sell your details.

Who else handles the details

The website is hosted by Netlify. When you send the form, the message is delivered by Resend to my Google Gmail mailbox. Those companies process the information so the enquiry can reach me.

Netlify, Resend, and Google may store or transmit information outside the UK. Where that happens, they use appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

How long I keep enquiries

I keep enquiry emails for up to 12 months, unless a booking follows. If we book a session, I keep what I need for that work and then delete it when I no longer need it.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies for visitors. There are no tracking cookies and no marketing cookies.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to your information, and for it to be corrected or erased. You can object to how I use it, ask me to restrict that use, and, where it applies, ask for a copy in a portable format. Email laurabarrettphotography@gmail.com and I will respond. I may need to confirm it is you first.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: https://ico.org.uk.
